Case Study: The Armory Bar

In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, the owners of The Armory bar in Brooklyn needed to shift their business priorities and ways of working. When New York City went into lockdown, Oscar Diaz del Castillo & James ‘KP’ Sykes, co-owners of The Armory, not only edited operational procedures but doubled down on their values. The Armory quickly partnered with nearby elementary school, PS 133, to transition the bar’s daytime house into a food pantry for students & local residents. To amplify awareness for their community support initiatives, we tapped into our extensive network, securing meaningful earned media coverage in major press outlets such as The New York Times, Thrillist, Showtime’s The Desus & Mero Show, and DoNYC. This increase in awareness for what they were doing helped drive additional donations from the general public, as well as several major brands such as Lyft.
